School Learning Support Officers SLSOs
School learning support officers work under the direction and supervision of the classroom teacher. They provide assistance to students with a disability and additional learning and support needs.
They can provide assistance with:
school routines
classroom activities, and
the care and management of students with disability and additional learning and support needs.
SLSOs working with IFS students make weekly observation notes about their students.
The SLSO timetable can change at times based on student needs.
Wellbeing and Health In-reach Nurse (WHIN)
Nikki is a Clinical Nurse Specialist who will be working across our school, with our learning and support team, to help connect students and families with health and community services. She is here to help support students and families in addressing health needs, coordinate appropriate assessments and assist with referrals to any needed medical or social services.
This isn’t a First Aid position. Nikki is employed by NSW Health and is one of around 100 similar roles which are being introduced in schools across NSW in a partnership between NSW Health and the Department of Education

Speech Therapist
Our school speech therapist works every Friday. If there are concerns about a student’s speech and/or ability to understand information a speech referral is filled out and our speech therapist conducts some assessments. If the assessments identify an area of need, the student is placed into a support group.
