Learning Support at HPPS
Learning and support resources are available to help any student experiencing difficulties in learning in a mainstream class, regardless of the cause.
This includes support for students with:
learning difficulties
mild intellectual disabilities - IM
behaviour needs
autism spectrum disorders or mental health disorders (with lower-level support needs).
What does support look like?
Support at Hayes Park comes in a range of different forms
Intervention (academic support)
Hayes Hangout and structured games (friendship and social support during breaks)
Hayes Chillout (sensory/emotional support)
SLSO support in the classroom and playground
Physical resources e.g. scanning pens, assistive technology, fidget toys, noise-cancelling headphones, wobble cushions/stools.
School counsellor, Speech therapist, School nurse, NDIS support, Family Connect and Support, Smith Family, Stewart House, Tuning into Kids family support.

Learning Support Team (LST)
Hayes Park Learning Support Team consists of
Learning and Support Teacher (LaST) - Jen Demos
School executive staff - Principal, Deputy Principal, Assistant Principals, class teachers.
School Counsellor - 1 day per week - Wednesdays
Speech Therapist - 1 day a week - Fridays
Wellbeing Nurse - Nicole Tabone
The Learning Support Team meets fortnightly.
