Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
Grandparents Day
Our school values strong connections with families and the broader community through a range of warm and inclusive events. Special occasions such as Grandparents Day, Community Breakfast and Yarn, and other social gatherings offer wonderful opportunities for sharing stories, building relationships, and celebrating the rich diversity of our community. These events nurture a spirit of collaboration, belonging, and mutual support, ensuring that every member feels welcomed and valued.
Education Week
Education Week is a special time when our school celebrates the joy of learning and the achievements of our students and staff. Throughout the week, we host a variety of engaging activities, open classrooms, and community events that showcase the creativity, hard work, and progress of our school community. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect, share stories, and highlight the importance of education in shaping bright futures.
ANZAC/Remembrance Day
At Hayes Park, ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day hold a special place in our hearts as we gather to pay tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of those who served in our armed forces. Through meaningful ceremonies, moments of reflection, and engaging learning experiences, our students gain a deep understanding of the importance of these days. We emphasise values such as respect, gratitude, and the pursuit of peace. These observances not only commemorate our shared history but also strengthen our school community, inspiring students to appreciate the freedoms we enjoy today.
Lunch Clubs
Hayes Park offers a variety of lunch clubs that provide wonderful opportunities for students to make new friends, learn new skills, and have fun in a supportive and welcoming environment. Our clubs include dance, chess, and even Pokémon, catering to a wide range of interests and talents.
K-2 Easter Hat Parade
Our Easter Hat Parade is a joyful and colourful tradition specially for our Kindergarten to Year 2 students. Each child creates and wears their own unique, imaginative Easter hat, showcasing creativity and enthusiasm. This cheerful celebration brings together students, families, and staff to share in the excitement of the season. The parade encourages artistic expression, community connection, and lots of happy smiles, making it a beloved event in our school year.
Southern Stars
Southern Stars Dance Spectacular is a vibrant and talented show that inspires students to develop their dance skills and confidence through high-quality performance opportunities. Members of the performance participate in rehearsals, workshops, and showcases. This ensemble is a wonderful way for students to shine, connect with fellow performers, and celebrate their passion for the creative arts.
